Year 7 to 9

Starting out building the foundations for success in the Senior years

Beginning secondary school can be both exciting and daunting for many children. To help children make the transition from primary school, each Year 7 student is assigned a Mentor teacher. This teacher can provide support, guidance and a friendly ear on any issues a student may be having.

In these junior years, the curriculum builds on a students knowledge, understanding and experience from primary school and starts to prepare them for the senior years of school.

Students undertake focused learning to develop subject-specific knowledge, skills and expertise in the areas of English, Mathematics, Science, Humanities, the Arts, Design and Technology and Physical Education.

An important aspect of these junior years is helping students to learn to work in teams, meet deadlines and develop good study habits for later years.

Year 10 to 12

The emphasis in senior years is on working with students to help them to develop and practice the skills they will require for success in tertiary education and the workforce such as the ability to: make decisions, accept responsibility and manage their time. As well, students are actively involved in planning and reflecting on their progress and learning.

In the senior years, students work with teachers to create a subject pathway that ensures they leave as young adults with the right skills they need for the next step in their lives. Students select from a wide range of VCE, VCE- VM and VET programs that include:
