Aide Appreciation Week
The Inclusive Education team and College would like to acknowledge Aide Appreciation week which was celebrated from the 28th of August to 1st of September. At Hume Central we are very fortunate to have a team of aides who work across our three campuses supporting students that need extra support with their learning.
Our aides support students in a variety of classes and also support teachers and other staff across the College. A lot of the work aides do is outside the classroom, offering support with extra-curricular activities. Some of these include:
- Sports carnivals
- Camps
- Excursions/incursions
- Exams & NAPLAN testing
- Homework Club
- Lunchtime activities
- Parent teacher student conferences
- Admin duties
- First aid duties
- Subject selection process
- Wear It Purple Day and R U OK Day
- Transition days
There are so many more areas in which our dedicated aides have input and a lot of the hard work aides do goes unnoticed. For young learners with special educational needs, having an extra helping hand can make a big difference to them feeling connected to their learning and achieving great results.
So, a special thank you to all our aides for all your efforts and ongoing support of our students. Both staff and students are extremely fortunate to have such a dedicated and proactive team.
Well done and keep up the great work!
