On the weekend 33 students from Hume Central SC, Glenroy College, and Roxborough College stepped out of their comfort zones and into the beautiful Camp Jungai to participate in a weekend of activities and new experiences. These students expressed their interest in being part of the program over 12 months ago and have been patiently waiting to be able to attend, after many reschedules. The program aimed to allow young women in our community to experience new outdoor activities, have fun and make some new or stronger friendships. The girls had a ball; canoeing, flying into the air on the possum pull, bushwalking, participating in Taungurung culture with Aunty, as well as learning about mental health and becoming your own superhero. Our girls worked really well and took all the opportunities that were provided with a positive attitude and friendly nature. Many girls expressed that this was one of the best weekends they had ever had.
